In line with the approved recommendations of
the South Holland District Council Cabinet ‘Plan
for Neighbourhoods’ report agreed on the 8th July 2025, the
Director of Economic Growth has
authorised - in consultation with the Leader of the Council and in
accordance with the steer of
the Spalding Town Board - the allocation and expenditure of up to
£40,000 from the Plan for
Neighbourhoods capacity fund in 2025/26 to extend delivery of the
Spalding hot spot policing pilot with the Lincolnshire Police and
the Office of the Lincolnshire Police and Crime Commissioner
(subject to contract).
Minutes of the Spalding Town Board Meeting
held on Monday 18 August 2025 record that :
Jo Davison presented the outcomes of the hotspot policing pilot,
which delivered 487 patrol hours, 11 arrests and 57 ASB powers
used. Survey results showed a 9% improvement in feelings of safety
and an 11% reduction in ASB, compared to a 9%
increase county-wide. The Board unanimously approved the extension
of the pilot using the remaining £40,000 funding. Members
emphasised the importance of maintaining momentum, monitoring
displacement and continuing collaboration with
SHDC enforcement and Kingdom Services. The initiative was
recognised as a valuable contribution to public safety and town
centre vitality.
