Car Parking Enforcement Options

Decision Maker: Portfolio Holder for Place

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To consider options for car parking enforcement

Decision:

To enter a memorandum of understanding with Lincolnshire County Council to provide car parking enforcement services to SHDC for its council owned and fee paying car parks.

Reasons for the decision:

It is the recommendation of the report that the option to sign up to the memorandum of understanding with Lincolnshire County Council is the best option.  This option provides the Council with the least risk and is arguably the best option financially whilst giving a good level of flexibility to end the option if it is deemed to not be beneficial to SHDC or its residents.

Alternative options considered:

Do nothing has been considered but will have financial implications.

Option to provide enforcement in-house has been considered but is considered costly and not in the public interest, given the other options available.

Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:

None.

Wards Affected: (All Wards);

Conflict of Interest: It is the officer's opinion that there are no conflicts of interest.

Dispensation Granted: This decision is not subject to urgent proceedings.
