Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Following a competitive tender process, Thornton-Firkin LLP have been selected to deliver this project.

Reasons for the decision:

South Holland District Council are seeking to develop new light industrial units on land off Crease Drove, Crowland. The council previously developed light industrial units at the site in 2010 and now wishes to develop industrial buildings in two further phases for sub-division into small units.
Cabinet on 27th March 2018 gave approval to proceed with this project and amended the proposed recommendation 4 in the report, so as to enable the Executive Director Commercialisation to proceed with the actions listed in the recommendation, including the approval of the business case without reporting the same to Cabinet, but that the Executive Director should instead consult with the Portfolio Holder Growth and Commercialisation.
A competitive tender process has been followed to appoint a suitably experienced Employer’s Agent to commence this project, following the granting of planning permission for the new industrial units, their task will be to manage the following elements of the project:
•Development feasibility work
•Scheme Design
•Project and Risk Management
•Procurement and partnering with building contractors
•Building contract and on-site development activity
