Purpose:

An independent feedback report detailing the findings of the LGA following the first Social Housing Management Peer Challenge.

Decision:

The Council participated in an LGA (Local Government Association) Peer challenge focussed on Social Housing Management. The challenge focussed on the landlord service within the Housing Revenue Account and the Councils readiness for the Social Housing Charter. The Council were provided with a final report detailing the LGA’s findings as part of the process. As good practice the Council has agreed to publish the findings of the LGA and the report is attached to this decision notice.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council is proud to have undertaken a review of its landlord function. As such, sharing good practice to contribute to the continued improvement of social housing and demonstrate commitment to the Social Housing Charter is important to South Holland District Council.

Alternative options considered:

The Council considered not publishing this report. However, this was rejected as the Council believes the document provides a good opportunity to share good practice and learning.
