To take a up to 12 month Option Agreement at up to £52,000 of the site in order to consider its long term value as a strategic asset to the Council.

Decision:

To take an up to 12 month option on a parcel of land in South Holland District Council’s area pending consideration of its longer term acquisition.

 

Reasons for the decision:

Taking an option would provide the Council with up to 12 months to develop a full business case to bring forward a detailed project for Council to make a final decision.

 

Alternative options considered:

  • Not to take an option of the site – not recommended as the land may otherwise be sold to another purchaser and the Council would miss a potential key strategic opportunity.

 

·       Purchase the land unconditionally – not recommended as this would lead to an unacceptable level of risk to the Council
