Purpose:

To seek approval to transfer a small section of planting area at the entrance to the Council owned Carpark at Fishpond Lane, to Lincolnshire County Council Highways.

Decision:

Agree to transfer to the Highway Authority, 3m2 of land which is currently planted with shrubs at the entrance to the Council owned carpark in Fishpond Lane, Holbeach. To enable the Highway Authority to carry out footway safety improvements which will benefit residents and pedestrians who use this area and carpark.

 

Reasons for the decision:

By agreeing to transfer of the small section of land (3m2), it will ensure that the proposed footway improvement works can be delivered by the Highway Authority which will improve residents and pedestrian safety when using Fishpond Lane.

 

Alternative options considered:

Refuse to transfer the area - If the transfer is not granted, the Highway Authority will be unable to fully complete the footway safety works which will have a detrimental effect on local residents and pedestrian safety when using Fishpond Lane.
