To vary the existing management agreement
dated 23 December 2009 made between South Holland Homes and South
Holland District Council to enable South Holland Homes to charge
rent for its properties in accordance with the Rent Standard for
Social Rent, as required by the Homes England.
South Holland District Council manages the
rents for the properties owned by South Holland Homes in accordance
with the terms of the management agreement dated 23 December 2009.
The Board of Directors of South Holland Homes has agreed that, in
accordance with the requirements of Homes England, the rent formula
(including any successor rent formulae) to be used in relation to
the Council’s social housing stock be applied to it own
properties, including the formulae used to calculate the rent for
tenancies of new properties. It has also agreed that the
Company’s properties be subject to the same annual
calculations as the Council’s social housing properties so
that the Company’s rents increase or decrease at the same
rate as the Council’s social housing rents. This has no
effect upon the Council, but the Council is required to amend the
management agreement to allow this to be contractually
required.
No other options have been considered as the
decision is necessary to enable South Holland Homes to charge
property rent as required by Homes England.
Conflict of Interest: None
Equalities Issues: None, amendments to the agreement reflect a change in legislation.
