The Black Sluice Internal Drainage Board is an authority set up to control water levels and reduce the risk of flooding within the Board's area, which extends from Boston to South Kyme, Sleaford, Bourne, Pinchbeck and Sutterton.
It operates 34 pumping stations and maintains 500 miles of watercourses within its area, and has a policy of undertaking this work with regard to protecting and enhancing the environmental features in these watercourses.
